New Approach to Statutory Declarations

From 1st July 2026, all the fees collected for UK statutory declarations as defined and charged under the Statutory Declarations Act 1835 will be given directly to a local school or organisation.

This will help me reduce the amount of time that I spend recording these documents in my case management software and accounting records. As we know, the fees are £5 per documents and £3 per exhibit, and whilst they do take a small amount of meeting time, I often spend much longer recording everything correctly. By requesting the payment be given directly to the school or organisation, this allows me to free up some time and helps local causes. Any fees, such as drafting or declarations that need to be notarised for use abroad fall under my notarisation fee, the minimum fee is currently £100 and that is to be paid to me in the usual way.

To launch, the fees will be given to the local primary school: New Brighton Primary School. They do wonderful things for the children and often run school trips and events at a loss, so your small contribution will help. How they spend your donations will be at their discretion.

For now, collections will be taken in cash, or you can pay by bank transfer during our meeting, so that they can receive them directly.

If you have any questions about the new system or any declarations, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
