I have been practicing as a notary for almost seven years and have been qualified for longer. Over this time, I have only increased my arrangement fee which was to reflect the working that went into obtaining legalisation. My notarial rate hasn’t changed. This is not reflective of the increase in costs that I incur as part of my role. I have therefore decided that as of 1 October 2025, my hourly rate will increase to £200 per hour, with a minimum fee of £100. My arrangement fee for additional services, such as legalisation or translation will be £25, and every service will have its own fee. For example, if you would like me to arrange the translation and apostille of a birth certificate, the fee total is now £50 plus the disbursement costs. As they always have, disbursements will be charged at the same rate I am. When it comes to the verification of a document, such as a degree, the verification process won’t be charged as a separate service, but the cost of it will be a disbursement, just as it is now.
There is also a change in the way digital documents are priced. The minimum fee is £100 (the same as paper), but the cost of the digital envelope will be a disbursement, which is currently £11, which is the amount that I pay to obtain one. The arrangement fee for the e-apostille, will also increase from £5 to £10.
Statutory declarations for use within the UK, and are drafted under the Act, will remain at the statutory cost.
To recap the services that I offer include the notarisation of:
1. Powers of attorney
2. Declarations, oaths and affidavits
3. Proof of life
4. Company documents
5. Articles of association
6. Incorporation certificates
7. Director resolutions
8. Degree certificates
9. Employment history
10. Certified copies of your identity documents
And the completion of ID1 and ID5 forms for the Land Registry.
