Updated legalisation services from January 2024

It has been brough to my attention from my consular services agent, that the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) will stop the premium service it offers to customers from January 2024.

This is because the office that deals with these requests will close on 29th December 2023 due to a range of factors. This service offered a same day apostille service at a higher cost.

The agent that I use, CDN Consular Services Limited, will still offer their next day service option and will continue to utilise their courier and Royal Mail services to ensure that documents are issued in a timely manner.

You can of course, still obtain the apostilles from the FCDO as part of their standard service. As always, this is still something that you can do yourself, or I can do that for you, for an arrangement fee. Currently, they have a five working day turnaround, but this can increase during the summer to around 30 working days, plus postage time. Whilst being the cheaper option to obtaining the same product, time is a factor you will need to consider.

E-apostilles are still available, and the most recent one I have was returned in 24 hours, however their website currently offers a 48-hour turnaround time.

If you have any questions about apostilles, legalisation or notarisation, please do not hesitate to contact me.
