We are getting to the time of year where this question is often asked, and unfortunately there is no clear or definitive answer. I wish that there was. Consent should always be given by the non-travelling parent(s) and provided in a written format. In many circumstances this isn’t possible, or not needed, for example one parent may have sole custody of the child(ren).
